1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a My Green Year account or using the My Green Year service, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

My Green Year is a subscription-based web app that helps you track sustainable habits, estimate your carbon impact, and build consistency through streaks and achievements. All carbon estimates are based on generalized assumptions and are not exact personal measurements.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Subscription & Billing

• My Green Year offers two paid plans: Monthly ($9.99/month, billed monthly) and Weekly ($4.99/week, billed weekly). There is no free tier or trial.
• Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Your subscription auto-renews until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime from your profile in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.
• If a payment fails, access may be paused until the payment is resolved.
• Fees are non-refundable for the current billing period once charged, except where required by law.
• We may change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers keep their current rate until renewal.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use My Green Year for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to access another user's data or circumvent access controls.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the service.
• Use the service to spam, harass, or harm others.
• Submit false or misleading data that could skew aggregate analytics.

6. Carbon Estimates & Disclaimers

All carbon impact figures shown in My Green Year are estimates based on generalized, publicly available data and assumptions. They are not exact measurements of your personal carbon footprint. We provide them to help you understand the relative impact of habits, not as precise scientific data. Always consult primary sources for decisions requiring accuracy.

7. Intellectual Property

My Green Year, its design, content library, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Your data — your habits, completions, and profile — belongs to you. You grant us a license to process it to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time, which permanently removes your data. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use My Green Year ends immediately.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

My Green Year is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any damages related to reliance on our carbon estimates. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which My Green Year operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
